What should be paid attention to when installing radar level gauge?

Whether the radar level gauge can measure correctly depends on the reflected wave signal. If the electromagnetic wave can not be reflected back to the radar antenna at the selected installation position, or the interference wave is reflected to the radar liquid level gauge by the interference within the range of signal wave, the radar liquid level gauge can not reflect the actual liquid level correctly. Therefore, it is very important to choose the installation position of radar level gauge.

Pay attention to the following points during installation:

(1) The axis of radar liquid level meter antenna should be perpendicular to the reflecting surface of liquid level.

(2) If the mixing valve in the tank, the adhesion on the tank wall and the ladder are within the signal range of the radar liquid level meter, the interference reflection wave will be generated, which will affect the liquid level measurement. In order to avoid the interference of these factors, the appropriate installation position should be selected.

(3) The bell mouth of the horn type radar liquid level meter should exceed the inner surface of the mounting hole for a certain distance (> 10 mm). The antenna of the rod type liquid level meter shall extend out of the installation hole, and the length of the installation hole shall not exceed 100 mm. For circular or elliptical vessels, they should be installed at a distance of 1 / 2R (R is the radius of the vessel) from the center, and should not be installed at the center of the top of the circular or elliptical vessels. Otherwise, radar waves will gather at the center of the top of the vessel after multiple reflection of the vessel wall, forming a strong interference wave, which will affect the accurate measurement.

(4) In order to reduce the influence of liquid level fluctuation, the liquid level meter with bypass pipe can be used to measure the liquid level of the vessel with large fluctuation.
